Established in 2006 as an initiative of the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, has given a vast approach in the field of Design. Providing one course of interior design with a duration of 2 and a half years, M.des for retail experience. Basic eligibility criteria and age criteria are to be fulfilled to apply, followed by a Design aptitude test. International Institute of Fashion Design: This institute provides a unique list of programmes like advanced, specialised and super specialised programmes in the field of interior design and fashion design with one another popular course of certification and foundation programme. With the maximum criteria being the merit or score obtained by the students in 12th grade. The school of Interior Design of Jain happens to offer only my course but with wide approach in every field. The course being B.Sc in Interior Design with a duration of 3 years, at the undergraduate level. With a course rating of 3.6, it offers a wide range of programmes apart from the former mentioned. It lacks in the area of placement recruitment’s but in 6th semester it offers internships in various companies to apply in the list provided by the college as a 2D designer, 3D designer, product designer and so on as per what’s suitable for you.

PFor the admission process, an entrance test called JET ( Jain entrance test ) is taken over both online and offline mediums. To be eligible to give the entrance test the students should have had attained at-least 60% aggregate in 10+2. One flexibility is being able to give the JET, incase you haven’t received your 10+2 result and you also don’t want to miss the test waiting for it.

9. LISAA School of Design

A younger institute just established in 2013 in Banglore, India, distinctively present in only international countries. LISAA brings on the table a lot of programmes like undergraduate, PG diploma course and diploma course. Due to international engagement, the college organises a lot of international events to increase the engagement of participants and to let them compete globally. The interior design courses at both UG and PG level are B.Sc in Interior design and Product Design, diploma in Interior Design & PG in Interior Design and Business Management. For practical & greater exposure, they take students for international trips and organise international workshops for better understanding.

The admission process goes in the international manner, A test called LISAA Creative Aptitude Test (CAT) after obtaining a basic criteria score, A Personal Interview ( PI) is taken through Skype.

With the only finger counted courses for Interior Design it still manages to be one of the known colleges. It doesn’t have a hostel to accommodate students and was founded by the Ujwal Trust to educate the students in the field of art and design. It offers several sorts of programmes in several fields. This private institution goes for an entrance test called SEAT with prime eligibility of having passed in 10+2 from any significant board/ open school followed by a personal interview to finalise the selection for the shortlisted candidates who pass the criteria of SEAT. Only internships are provided for the third year students but no guaranteed placements.

14. IIFA Lancaster Degree College

One of the several leading colleges known for Game Designing, Fashion Designing, Animation, and Interior Designing. It is a residential college with utmost facilities. It has a holistic approach in the courses from Bsc, BBA, BVA, BCA, BCom, to MSc in Interior Design and management & MVoc, offers it all. The placement cell serves both international and domestic recruitments and also giving them an exposure towards real-life experiences through live projects and industrial visits and internships.

The recruiters are Prada, Interior Architects, Bridges Interiors, Kenzo, ACE Interior, and a few more. Exclusive In-house trainers for pre-placement counselling and training is provided with has turned out to be quite helpful. One relevant preference is given in the admission process to the students with a single parent, others are admitted through the eligibility criteria of the entrance test and passing in 12th grade and with a family income under 8 lakh.

15. ID Institute – Creative Design Academy

A private institution with a count of more than 2300 people trained professionally in the field of Designing. They follow the American Council of Interior Design Accreditation methodology. Presently, it offers certification and diploma programmes where the latter are certified through the NVUP a unit of National Council for Skill Development. It doesn’t force the students to join their curriculum if they aren’t comfortable for this they allow the students to take one demo class on campus which they need to schedule beforehand for a visit through their official website for a better view on the courses. The admission criteria is solely merit-based along with the scholarship criteria. Loan facilities are available for the ones who are financially challenged.
